• The Final Touch That Makes a Lasting Impression

At PrinttPixel, we believe finishing isn’t just the last step—it’s what makes your print feel premium, polished, and truly complete. From soft-touch laminations to bold foils and custom cutouts, our finishes are designed to elevate your design and bring out its full potential.

This Finishing Guide gives you an overview of the most popular finishes we offer—explaining how they look, what they’re best for, and how they can add value to your print.

  • Some finishes, like embossing, debossing, gold leafing, and laser cutting, require a minimum order quantity to produce, due to the setup and craftsmanship involved. We’ll always guide you on what works best based on your project and quantity.

These are the most commonly used finishes that we have readily available at PrinttPixel. However, we also offer many more advanced or specialty options on request. And if you're looking for something new or different—we’ll gladly explore the right finish for you.

Gloss Lamination

• A shiny, reflective coating that enhances colors and adds vibrancy.
• Great for flyers, brochures, menus, and bold packaging.
• Offers some water and scratch resistance.
• Makes designs pop with a bright, polished look.

Matte Lamination

• A smooth, non-glossy finish that gives a soft, elegant feel.
• Perfect for premium cards, boxes, and invitations.
• Reduces glare and fingerprint marks.
• Ideal for subtle, modern, and minimalistic designs.

Velvet (Soft-Touch) Lamination

• A rich, suede-like finish that feels soft to the touch.
• Best for luxury cards, packaging, or gift boxes.
• Adds a premium tactile experience.
• Works beautifully with foil or spot UV on top.

Glitter Finish

• A sparkly layer that gives shimmer and shine to your prints.
• Ideal for festive cards, wedding invites, or fun branding.
• Available in multiple glitter tones.
• Makes any print eye-catching and vibrant.

Gold Foil

• A shiny gold stamp that adds elegance and richness.
• Best used on logos, names, or key design elements.
• Available in other foil colors too (silver, rose gold, etc).
• Works great on matte, velvet, or textured paper.

Spot UV

• A glossy coating applied only to specific areas (like logos or text).
• Perfect for highlighting elements without covering the full design.
• Adds contrast when used on matte or velvet surfaces.
• Creates a subtle yet striking shine.

Embossing (Raised Design)

• Pressed from the back to create a raised effect on the surface.
• Ideal for logos, monograms, or text on premium print materials.
• Adds a classy, tactile element to your design.
Note: Not available for small quantity orders.

Debossing (Pressed-In Design)

• The reverse of embossing—design is pressed into the surface.
• Great for soft textures, natural looks, and elegant packaging.
• Offers a vintage or handmade appeal.
Note: Cannot be done in small quantity prints.

Gold Leafing (Flat Textured Metallic)

• Hand-applied metallic foil that gives a textured, luxe look.
• Used for wedding cards, premium invites, or religious prints.
• Delivers a rich, regal aesthetic.
Note: Available only on larger quantity orders.

Laser Cutting (Custom Cutouts)

• Precision-cutting method to create detailed shapes or patterns.
• Best for wedding cards, tags, and creative packaging.
• Allows fully custom designs, including name cutouts or patterns.
Note: Not suitable for very small quantity jobs.

Because a great print deserves a great finish—one that looks good, feels good, and makes your brand unforgettable.
